Before you start to use AQAMAI products

Check the integrity of all components of the product, always disconnect all electrical devices in the aquarium and verify that the voltage and frequency of the product correspond to the ones of your network.

What is the intended use of the product?

The LRs LED lighting is designed for aquarium use (indoor only).

How can I hang the LRs lamp over my aquarium?

The LRs can be hung above the aquarium using the hanging kit that is supplied with the lamp.
Alternatively, Aqamai Brackets can be purchased separately.

Which type of aquarium is suitable for my LRs lamp?

The LRs LED lamp is designed exclusively for marine aquariums.
The maximum size of the aquarium that can be covered by the LRs lamp is about 50 cm (20 inches) in length and 50 cm (20 inches) in width. The depth however depends on the type of corals and the type of rock you have in your aquarium.
These measures are indicated in case the lamp is ubicated in the center of the aquarium.

Which glass thicknesses can sustain the LRs brackets?

Depending on the thickness of your aquarium glass, you can choose two different types of supports:
– Brackets available for thick glass up to 16 mm (0.62 inches)
– Brackets available for thick glass up to 33 mm (1.29 inches)
The brackets are positioned on the edge of the aquarium tank and blocked by specific screws.
The brackets are not included with the LRs lamp.

Is the LRs lighting waterproof?

The LRs is not waterproof!
The LRs lighting has IPX2 degree of protection and should not be immersed in water. If the LRs falls into the water do not take it out immediately! First remove the plug and then retrieve it.
If the electrical components of the LRs are wet, disconnect it immediately.

What is the length of the LRs cable?

Total length of the cable is 3 m (10 ft).
From the plug to the Ps connector the length is 1,5 m (5 ft).
From the PS connector to the LRs the length is 1,5 m (5 ft).

What is the required maintenance for the LRs lighting?

It is required that the the blowers and the heatsinks are cleaned to remove dust once every six months.

How can I clean the blowers and heatsinks?

You can use compressed air by blowing it into the plastic grids on the edge of the lamp.
Be very careful not to let the blowers turn, so block the blowers from turning during the cleaning operation.

How can I replace the LRs lamp lenses?

1- Disconnect the power supply
2- Place the LRs on a flat surface with the lenses facing upwards
3- Unscrew the 8 screws of the lens rings
4- Remove the lens rings
5- Remove the lenses
6- Insert the new lenses
7- Replace the rings and tighten the 8 screws
Be careful placing the new lenses. Check that the 3 pins on the lens match the 3 holes on the LED cluster. During this operation, be sure the LEDs do not come in contact with external substances.
Attention: Do not disassemble the other parts of the lamp as it will void the warranty.

How do I check if my LRs is following the program I set?

From the “Settings” menu in the Aqamai app, identify the relevant products and check that the button at the bottom right next to the program name is green.
If the button is red, press the button again to activate the program.

I have a LRs but I am not able to connect it to my smartphone/tablet

– iOS
First, make sure you have installed the most recent version of the Aqamai app.
Make sure that your Wi-Fi network is enabled, then check that the Aqamai device is connected to your tablet/smartphone.
If the problem persists, reset the pump and repeat the connection setup procedure.
– ANDROID
First, make sure you have installed the most recent version of the Aqamai app.
Make sure that your Wi-Fi network is enabled, mobile networks deactivated, gps location enabled and check that the Aqamai device is connected to your tablet/smartphone.
Remember to deactivate the mobile networks during connection setup and use of all other Aqamai devices. Once the connection setup procedure is completed you can reactivate them.
If the problem persists, reset the pump and repeat the connection setup procedure.

My device is connected to the Aqamai App but I still cannot control it

– iOS

– ANDROID

I cannot upload a custom program to the LRs, what should I do?

– iOS

How do I check if my device is updated to the most recent firmware version?

Go to the main menu of the Aqamai app and press “Upgrading devices”. Here you will see a list of the devices you have paired. If you press “INFO” you can view all pump information, including the current firmware and the available one.
If the Aqamai device requires a firmware update, in the “Upgrading devices” menu the button on the right will be yellow and the words “UPDATE REQUIRED” will appear.

How can I update the LRs firmware?

Unpair the Aqamai device from the App: from the main menu, press “MANAGE” and select the device you wish to unpair. Press the gear icon symbol for the settings of the specific device and press “DELETE DEVICE”.
Press and hold the controller push button for 10 seconds.
Now re-pair the device to the application, as you would for a new product.
Go to the “DEVICES UPDATE” menu, press “UPDATE REQUIRED” and follow the instructions provided by the App.
Remember that you will need to re-send the program to your device after the update.

I can’t update the LRs firmware.

– iOS

How do I disconnect the device from my household WiFi?

Unpair the Aqamai device from the app: from the main menu, press “MANAGE” and select the device you wish to unpair from the list. Press the gear icon symbol for the settings of that device and press “DELETE DEVICE”.
Press and hold the controller push button for 10 seconds.
Re-pair the device to the application, as you would for a new product.
Remember that while the device is paired with a household network, you will be able to operate it only with the Aqamai account you have paired it with.

How can I save my settings and personal data?

Once you have created the custom programs, go to “Sync” from the main menu and press “SYNCHRONIZE”.
For synchronization to be successful your phone must have an internet connection.
This way all your data, programs and paired devices will be saved on Aqamai servers.
If you exit from the app, update the app or change phones you will need to log in with the same username and synchronize the app again to find all your saved data, programs and devices.

How can I reset my device to the factory settings?

Press and hold the reset button next to the LED on the back of the lamp for 10 seconds.

What do the colors of the LED on the back of the lamp mean?

– White: LRs is booting up and setting Wi-Fi parameters. Wait until color changes.
– Green: Direct connection mode on.
– Purple: Connection mode on.
– Blinking white – 1 sec: Demo mode on. Press the LRs button for 2 seconds and release it to turn off LRs for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes LRs will return to daily schedule. Press the LRs button again to restart the daily schedule.
– Blinking purple/green – 1 sec: Connection issues. LRs is not able to connect to the network. Check if your router is switched on and operating. Check if the SSID and/or PASSWORD of your home network have not changed. To reset the settings, press the LRs button for 10 seconds; the signal LED will turn white and the LRs will restart. Wait until color changes, then try again to connect it again to your home network.
– Blinking red: Thermal cool down. The main LEDs will remain off until the temperature reduces. Ensure that the LRs has enough space and air flow. If problem persists contact AQAMAI Customer Support.
– Blinking blue/green: Firmware update in progress. If the upload is not completed disconnect the LRs power supply, wait 30 seconds and try again.
– Blinking red/green: Hardware issue. Contact AQAMAI Customer Support.

What is the Aqamai app?

The Aqamai App is a software available for IOS and Android that allows you to control all Aqamai devices.
With the Aqamai App, you can create specific and custom sets for your aquarium by controlling the water movements (if you have a KPm / KPs) and lighting (if you have an LRm / LRs / LFm / LFs ).

Why do I need to update the Aqamai app firmware?

Updates are necessary in order to take full advantage of all the features of the Aqamai devices.
